Gwin Oaks Elementary School (Gwin Oaks) is a public elementary school located in Lawrenceville, Georgia, serving approximately 1,000 prekindergarten through fifth-grade students with an average student-teacher ratio of 15-to-1. Gwin Oaks uses the Academic Knowledge and Skills curriculum (AKS). The AKS are aligned with the Georgia Standards of Excellence (GSE) and are applied by teachers as a guideline for teaching language arts, science, math and social studies. AKS is an inclusive curriculum that was created and developed by educators, with input from parents, guardians and community members. Parents and guardians are encouraged to participate in their student's education as much as possible and are welcome to visit the school with a prior appointment. Gwin Oaks also uses the Positive Behavioral Interventions Support framework (PBIS). This framework sets expectations for student behaviors while recognizing positive behaviors and re-teaching expectations when needed. The school also offers an early learning resource called “Play 2 Learn.” This program was designed for children ages 0 to 5 and helps parents and guardians teach everyday activities, engage with children during playtime, teach children how to learn anywhere and prepare them for the structure of school.

I really love Gwin Oaks. The teachers that we've had have been great. The school is very communicative. The staff are great from the teachers, front office, clinic, cafeteria and counselors. They are really all about their students. They think thoroughly through all the decisions they make. The school also does a lot of fun things for the kids. Gwin oaks is also very diverse. My child has learned a lot in this school I am very impressed.

We love Gwinnett Oaks. The school is close to our home and the safety for walkers is great. My child has excelled in all subjects and had excellent socialization with other students. We have been so pleased with Gwin Oaks. My children are currently 4th and 2nd grade and have been there since Kindergarten. All of the teachers are amazing! Excellent leadership, wonderful instruction, and effective, clear communication. This school and the entire BHS cluster is the reason we moved to this area. We are very happy with both our children in this program.
