Fusion Academy Loudoun is a private school located on Promenade Drive in Leesburg. The Loudoun campus is Fusion’s 41st campus to open nationwide. Fusion Academy was started by Michelle Rose Gilman in Solana Beach, California, in 1989 to meet the need for personalized education in her community. A second campus was added in Los Angeles in 2010. Now there are 60 campuses all over the country.
Fusion offers an accredited education in a personalized environment. Classes at Fusion Academy are one-on-one, with one student and one teacher per classroom. The school serves students in middle school and high school, who can attend full-time, or part-time to take classes for credit or to receive tutoring or mentoring.
Summer programs are also available to fill learning gaps or serve more advanced students. Fusion not only benefits gifted students but also helps students with learning challenges such as ADHD. Students get a program customized to meet their needs.
Fusion Academy takes a holistic approach to education. Its philosophy is “Love, Motivate, Teach.” This philosophy enables the school to help students thrive academically, socially and emotionally through one-on-one classes, Homework Café and social opportunities.
Each campus has one quiet Homework Café and one Social Homework Café where students can complete coursework during the school day and participate in student clubs. For example, Fusion's Loudoun campus has a running club, writers club, yoga club, documentary club, drama club and student government.
