There is an admission test. This helps determine student ability for placement. They offer a shadow day for prospective students to visit the school and discover what it's like. Parents are invited to visit with the headmistress and staff. The staff is friendly and kind. Dress code is strong but maintained and there are regular opportunities to dress in civilian or PE attire. Bullying is not tolerated. Students are treated with respect by the staff. Celebrations and fun activities are held regularly and the staff encourages the students to create their own plans for events and prom and supports them to help them come to fruition.

The basic foundation of the school does not tolerate bad behavior. They have an honor code that the students follow.

My son had demonstrated strong academic abilities through 5th grade but then, in middle school, his grades began to slip and his attitude turned very negative and confrontational. My child has thrived in this school, the individualized attention has made a world of difference from public school. Not only is he getting excellent grades but he is proud of his accomplishments and has set goals for himself.

Wonderful school! I am so glad I made the decision to send my children to Leonard Hall Junior Naval Academy. Not only have there grades greatly improved but so have their attitudes. They tell me that they like the school better than public school and that it feels like they are going to school with...
