GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Great school never had an issue. Always felt safe. I would say that most of the teachers are caring and helpful. The sports program is the best!! The town truly comes together to support the sports program. The worst thing is it looks dated needs to be painted. The food is not good either.

My experience has been overall well in my high school. During my stay, there have been many fights between students however for the most part it has been a positive environment.

I love all of the teachers at my school! They're all extremely supportive and are determined to help kids success in and outside of the classroom. Many offer extra help throughout the school day and after school. Some even offer extra help on the weekends!! Although the teachers are great, I'd like to see students happier. Most kids are bored throughout the day. I think incorporating hands on learning would really address that issue!!!

I had my ups and downs socially and academically, but, overall I had a very good experience.

As a professor at SUNY Farmingdale and a Lindenhurst community member, I am ashamed of LHS. Lindenhurst has some of the highest school taxes in Suffolk County. Yet, many Lindenhurst natives in my classes, even high-achievers, have a very tough time adjusting to college. Even the students I get from...

Lindenhurst High School has some wonderful teachers however the staff at the administrative level is severely lacking. They do not take student issues like bullying seriously and the lack of attention to a serious drug problem will only cause the district to decline further.
