GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

My overall experience at Locust Grove High School has been good. There have been ups and downs as going into high school was during Covid. I feel like i missed a lot of valuable social experience during my freshman year due to this. The academics have typically been good throughout my experience. My favorite subjects have always been the science related ones such as physical science and biology. Those were the easiest classes for me. The safety at Locust Grove i feel has been relatively okay since we have two resource officers. I do however feel like the school could use newer and updated resources like textbooks and such.

This schools building as well as most other district properties are in desprite need of renavations. Most of the current building matterial in the football stands /seating haven't been replaced in over 40 years this has lead to people falling through the stands and this is not the only instance of repares being put on hold. During the summer the softball teams pressboxs' roof was burnt compleatly down and repares have only started in december almost four months after the event took place.

I went to Locust Grove High school for all four years of my high school career. The principal I had is gone now, but he was an excellent principal and did everything in his power to make sure I graduated on time. Every teacher I have had there was wonderful, and it's definitely one of the safest high school campuses.
