My experience at the school was generally positive. The teachers were amazing, despite taking rigorous courses our teachers make the subject relatable. They prep the students well for any exams and projects. The best part was the learning experience and the worse part has to be the student body. I would like to see more availability of rigorous AP courses for students to take.

In all my four years at this high school, I really enjoyed it except for when COVID hit and we had to go remotely for almost 2 years. Learning was not the same during that time. The teachers did try so hard to keep the students engaged in their classes.

Academy is great because of the diversity. My closest friends are from all different cultures. There are so many wonderful teachers who truly care about their students. The school, however, is very overcrowded. It's difficult to walk through the hallways and to find a place to sit in the cafeteria.

At first I was told it’s a good school, go to Academy of American Studies. It was closer than the other schools I anticipated to apply to, so I applied, (and left out far better schools I could’ve attended) and got into the school I had doubts in attending. I wasn’t sure because it seemed like an av...

My child is having a very good experience in this school. Engaged teachers, attentive administrators -- I mean, no school is completely perfect in every way, but this is a really good high school. Cons: Gym classes are overcrowded, only one French teacher (so not enough seats for those who want them...

Poor excuse for a school. The staff is unorganized, there are unqualified teachers and only a handful of teachers are helpful. I spent two years here, and my sophomore year was just hell. My English class basically did nothing the entire year. The gym class is way too overcrowded. It is not a good e...

I was a student at the Academy of American studies until sophomore year. The school spirit is strong and also the school has so many events through the year. There are indeed some students which are trouble makers but all schools has its flaws. But mostly all of the students there are great. You can...
