GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

My years at Lubbock High has been a roller coaster but nevertheless, I don't ever regret going here at all. The best parts of my experience is the amazing teachers and staff as well as our academic program. It can only get you so far having those things at a good level. So for Lubbock High to excel in these aspects makes it an amazing school to go too if you want the best chance of going to a top college. I wouldn't really say there were bad parts about my experience, mostly everyone at the school is friendly and the teachers have an amazing sense of humor and will let you learn a lot from them. Being one of the most highly academic rated schools, they also hold high achievements in their sports. Although we aren't really the best at all of our sports like other schools, we do have a few that stand out. Lastly, Lubbock High's energy is through the roof, when it comes to extracurriculars such as orchestra or band, as well as the cheer, the energy is always top notch.

Live, laugh, lubbock high. I love lubbock high. It wasn't perfect, but students were truly cared about. There was always something going on, and so many opportunities. If I could go back to freshman year and pick any school in the lubbock area, LHS would still be my first choice.

I think compared to a normal school, it does seem a little better with the resources and programs we have, but for sure it's the students that carry the school academically as the teachers I say for the most part aren't that helpful, of courses, there is the exception that actually will prepare you for the material but there are so many other that you just have to self-study for. There are many aspects of the school that desperately need attention but the administrator has not bothered with instead having new construction for who knows what that busted a pipe so none of us could use the bathroom for the majority of the day. There were also some fights last year that have calmed down now. I say the best part would be the people again, there are the bad apple and days where I'm annoyed at everyone but mostly I'd say they are harmless and are willing to help if anyone help. ( at least for me).

The principals are ridiculous and rude. They don't seem care as much to help children succeed as they do to nit pick and tear down in vengeance. They attempt to threaten parents instead of trying to work with them to fix issues with their students. There are a few teachers and guidance counselors th...

I graduated in 2001. I loved the teachers (many were college professors before) and loved the diversity at the school. I had no problems while in college (obtained a doctorate degree). It has probably changed a bit but I still believe it's the best high school in the Lubbock area and one of the best...

I graduated from LHS several years ago, finished university in Austin, and have since been back a few times as a substitute teacher while I work on getting my teaching certification. It's a great school to sub at! I loved my experience as a student there- my teachers were top notch and actually care...
