Wingra School is a private school that serves kids from kindergarten through eighth grade.
Multi-age classrooms at Wingra offer students the opportunity to grow by interacting and cooperating with children of different experiences, maturity levels, and abilities.

Continuing its non-traditional approach to education, Wingra does not have letter grades or even tests. Instead it attempts to offer assessment on learning goals set by each student, their family and their teachers. Students and the educators then create an ongoing narrative describing their progress on achieving their goals.
Admission to the school generally starts with a school tour. After that is an application process and a student visit to the school. About two weeks after submitting a completed application, Wingra shares options for enrollment.
Tuition is customized per family, and is based on factors like general income, expenses, assets and debt.

I attended Wingra School from the middle of 4th grade through 8th grade. It was a fantastic experience. The progressive education model is wonderful and I really felt like I was getting an education that was the right pace and style for me. I felt very well prepared for high school and am graduating early with honors from Middleton High School this year.
