GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Corrupt. That is all I can say. The social workers gaslight you for no reason, and it's messed up what they can force you to do. You talk about minimal things to them, and they make such a big deal about it and they can call DCF on you and your family, or force you into a mental hospital for something that you weren't even going to do. This school basically does nothing to support you at all, and it's messed up how terrible and sick this school system is. I wish I could rate 0 stars.

My first year at Cheney was unique, to say the least. I didn't know if it was because I was in a whole new environment, but I never truly felt there. I didn't fit in with my peers. I ended up switching trades because the one I originally picked didn't turn out to be the way I expected it to be. When I switched trades, something changed. I was with a group of people who shared a similar interest as me and that was the foundation to a greater experience at my school. As the years went on, I felt more connected to my peers. And for once, I could finally see myself fitting in somewhere. It is true that Cheney tech has its bad qualities, but like any other school, its good ones make up for that. I've found a home in the last two years that I've attended Cheney, and I know my final year here will be amazing.

Cheney Tech serves such an amazing and diverse education. With students coming in from all around Connecticut, the life and culture in this school was great. Being able to select a trade that can set you up for the real world was incredible and so beneficial.

I am currently a senior at Cheney and I have to say that it is a wonderful school. You won't find many issues with bullying or crime and the teachers are pretty good. However, IF YOU DONT WANT TO TAKE A TRADE THEN DONT COME HERE! I enjoy this school because I enjoy my trade and this school puts a lo...
