When I went to Manistee middle/high school I didn't particularly enjoy my time. Most of the time you didn't really get the help you needed in all unless you were in sports, in which you were treated like a god. My sister got bullied enough she had to move schools because the staff wouldn't change it. Some of the teachers were really nice and really tried to help but overall I didn't particularly enjoy the dynamics of "if you're not a jock you're not as important". I did enjoy the food most days though, very few complaints there.

I liked the advanced placement classes that were optional for students who showed above-average work. I would like to see a different approach to bullying and harassment.

Overall a great school. There are a few teachers that are diamonds in the rough but at least half of them are incompetent. The actual school is really nice and you all get laptops which is a blessing and a curse depending on your motivation.

Not supportive of different ideas. They do not teach students how to think, they teach them what to think. They teach kids how to google stuff and have their faces in screens all day.

I would recommend Manistee high school! It is because of the great education I have been given that I am an almost all A student. Although we need some better math teachers, the school has great extra circulars from Forensics (Drama/debate), to Science Olympiad, Band, Quiz Bowl, Youth In Government,...

I would not recommend this school district. Unless you're an A+ student or an exceptional athlete, you are not given equal opportunities for success

I think that Manistee High School is a great school, the teachers are fair enough, and there is an excellent band program directed by a wonderful teacher. I am in her band class and I think she is one of the nicest, funniest, yet still tough teachers that you will have. She is not a pushover, has a...
