GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

The best part of the experience has been the ease of transition from another school. Livy has been very well supported. I wish there were a few more opportunities for college credits but other than that she has been successful academically.

I liked that some teachers were ready to help you when needed. I liked that the counselor worked with you to get you ready for college.

Although, the administration and New York seems to be attacking teachers, I believe Margaretville has some of the best teachers in the area. Especially, high school math teacher, Jenni Leaver. The teachers truly care about the students and helping them exceed what is expected from our small rural town. It is the students that are not well motivated and have given into the idea that they are stuck here that bring down what potential this school has to offer.

Those teachers have made learning very difficult for my children. At least one teacher in every middle or high school grade won’t follow my kid’s IEP, then treats...

Don't bother moving into this school district, there is a very small-town vibe (not in the good way) and outsiders stay outsiders. If your child isn't someone's favorite or at least walking distance from the school, don't plan on afterschool clubs or activities being welcoming or even available. Rur...

Blaming the principal and her qualifications does not address the issue's that the public schools are facing in today's society . We need to teach our children how to deal with others and not pull out or leave the situation unless everything is exhausted. I have a child who was bullied and have only...
