Marietta is far from bad but there are plenty of things that could be better. I love our staff and we have some great extracurricular programs, but for every few goods, there is a bad. The student environment could be better and the school itself is not the prettiest. Overall it's probably a C+ school.

The best part of this school is definitely the music program. However, typically the music program gets overshadowed by the athletic system. Our music program has won so many awards and our sports team is not the best, however I rarely see the school congratulate the music program, yet they'll congratulate our team for winning 4th place for something.

I was voted student body president during spring of 2023. I've been just about as involved in my school as any other student. So here are things that I like and don't like. Something I don't like. The math department. The majority of the math department ignores the district curriculum that is provided. The curriculum they are provided is proven to work on ED Reports. The curriculum that they choose to use has given our geometry students a 33% proficiency rate - the lowest in our area. Something I do like. Teachers are very passionate about helping students achieve their college dreams. If a student wants help applying for schools, scholarships, etc. they will sit down with you one on one to help. Something I don't like. Administrators. I have seen administration lie to students and parents, and me and my parents have been lied to by administrators. The lack of research based discipline is also alarming. The best part of Marietta are the students. No matter the flaws I love MHS.

I found this school to lack communication skills. Staff seems to ignore student input. I must say they do have some good teachers but no enough.

1100 students with 100 staff,, wonder why bullying is such a problem,, the principal is very good at sweeping problems under the rug till he get called out on it then turns it over to the school officer,, having children in with adults is not a good way to consolidate schools,, this matter needs to...
