GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

I absolutely love my high school. The school staff is very welcoming and make the school feel like home. The teachers care about the children and their education. All of the staff do they best they can to keep the school and students as safe as possible. They also try to get involved with the students so that way there is a better connection between the students and the school. The principle gets along well with the students but also provides structure to the school and students.

2.0 Alum

Marksville high school had a few amazing teachers but they were sadly over looked by the school board and administrators. Other teachers really did not care to see us succeed and I feel as though I was not prepared for college in any shape or form. As an alum I would like to see more college readiness programs and for the school board to stop breathing down the necks of teachers that are obviously doing an amazing job and begin to breath down the necks of the ones that don't even care about the future of their students.

This school is not safe. Fights every day. My kids saw blood and violence here. Cursing and F-word in the halls all over the place, and no one does anything about it. My kid was bullied, and nothing was done. The grounds are old, which is fine, but it is also dirty, dingy, and smelly. Teachers are s...

I am a MHS graduate. I really enjoyed my time there and felt it was a very diverse and well rounded educational opportunity. Tiger Pride!
