During my time at Mattawan, I have felt totally okay with it. Everything is just fine, I would say. Nothing great, nothing bad. It really just doesn't stand out. The one thing I will say is that our performing arts programs are fantastic and need more attention from our district.

Mattawan is a great school. The staff that I interacted with at the school is understanding, kind, and wants to see their students succeed. There are several programs offered to prepare students for college: early middle college, tech center programs, higher level classes (AP and honors), and even slower-paced classes to help students that need further help.

Mattawan provides a good education, and the honors classes had me prepared for community college. For those that take their education seriously, there are good opportunities. Like many schools, there are clear areas where they are lacking, but overall, Mattawan High School is satisfactory. It is important to note that Mattawan clearly lacks in diversity.

I wish I would have never sent my child to this school. Since attending high school his mental health has depleted drastically. The school allows bullies to run free. The worst part is if you're not the cookie cutter white kid you are horribly bullied. I can't even imagine what other minorities are...

Complete disregard for its students with special needs and poor or lack of complete communication with parents. Very unprofessional. A waste of taxpayer money. Do not recommend!

They are horrible to the students. The food is also horrible.

The most racist school in the area. Especially in high school sports. Do not send your kids here if they are black, the school does nothing to help you.
