GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

I would like to see a nicer facility that has many more safety features to help the students feel safe. I would also like to see more emphasis put on preparing for college and more ap courses available for students to take.

McCook High School is a decent school that offers a good amount of opportunities for a smaller school. The sports are enjoyable to watch and be involved in and the same goes for the arts. The one major downside is that the school is really old and is in need of a renovation. That, and the sports are funded significantly more than the arts which is blatantly unfair.

McCook senior high school is one of the best schools in NE, I think. It's a school in the poorest county but that doesn't stop them from trying their best to get students ready for college.

McCook High School is truly and outstanding 9-12 building. The student scores are excellent with an ACT average over a point higher than the national and state averages. MHS has great kids, great teachers and great administration.
