The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Jackson County high school was an okay school. You had all of your basic classes that you needed and the teacher new what they were talking about. You had a wide variety of electives you could pick from ranging from art to automotive. It is a good school the only bad thing I can think about it is the lunches weren't that great but they are supposed to be fixing that in the coming years.

I like how the teachers helps the kids with their work when they need it. They guide their students to do better. They encourage them to be a better person. They could stop the bullying. They could help them prepare for college.

Jackson County High School has some of the most involved teachers I have ever seen. Their abundance of compassion will never cease to amaze me. They care that their students are receiving the education they deserve, and truly want each student that enters their classroom to succeed.

As someone who goes to this school, the teachers are ok but the staff do absolutely nothing about bullying. If they do, they’re going to be biased. They don’t act until it’s too late. (We’re talking school fights almost every other week at this point) and not to mention, I once ate the meatloaf and...

I attend the tobacco stained halls of JCHS. I wouldn't call it a school though, more of a daycare center for teenagers. There are maybe six good teachers in the entire building, the science department is particularly decrepit. The staff allows the student body to run wild (their actions are consider...

Jackson County H.S. has a broad spectrum of students when motivation is considered. The administration has committed to hiring certified teachers in critical areas (like math), where a new hire is a man with a master's degree from U.K. This demonstrates a goal to provide quality instruction for thos...
