If you are hoping for a school that is diverse, and good for your child if they are just somewhat over weight, don’t come to Dowell. This school does absolutely nothing for bullying. They claim to have zero tolerance for bullying but they do nothing for kids who are LGBT that are getting bullied. I have been told to harm myself by another student and the school did nothing to resolve the issue. Many kids scream homophobic + racis...

In my case, I have had four kids in MISD. In the upper grades 8th and up, my experience has been less than optimal. Every year (100%) of the time, at least one (sometimes more) will not get their first choice elective. Every year this happens. Every year, I try and find someone to help me navigate....
