I am completely confident I made the right choice by choosing to attend Madeira. There is no other school that will prepare you for life like Madeira. I say life, not college, because the ethos of the school is to develop capable women. Although Madeira girls consistently attend top tier universities, the school is focused on nurturing the whole person. Everyone I know has found and nurtured an interest here.

Don't be fooled by the good reviews, because behind the scenes this school is awful and I wish I could leave. Go anywhere else BUT here. Get out while you can.

Madeira is not perfect but my kid has had a great experience so far. It's not been roses the entire time with friend ups & downs but she has received a great education. The new head is great & has made pos. changes in her short tenure. The yearly internships are worth it. Internships are what she has enjoyed most. Some don't like MODs but I thought it worked. It can be stressful if you get 3 tough classes in 1 mod, but it only lasts five weeks & then new classes. The athletics program is strong & teams are welcoming of new athletes. My kid joined a team in 9th-never played the sport prior. There are tons of activities to join.I wish the school would negotiate a group rate on books & include it in tuition.I HATE scrambling every year for books on multiple sites. She complains about the food b/c it's repetitive & some meals just aren't good. If you have dietary restrictions, it is monotonous.Overall, it's a safe & caring community and she is very college ready. We would do it again.

I was very disappointed in picking The Madeira School. I am very surprised by how it is one of the top boarding schools. I will admit the diversity is good, but the system and people there are horrid. Girls tend to slightly throw racial slurs at people of other ethnicities and teachers are unsupport...

While in high school, my daughter attended a summer program here. She loved it! Great teachers! Great cafeteria staff! Unfortunately, the security staff treated us poorly. When my husband and I arrived, we explained our reasoning for entering the campus to the security guard, who looked at us strang...
