Melrose High School can be perceived as an emotional roller coaster. The classes can be difficult sometimes. The teachers are not giving you the help you may need. But the connections you make at Melrose High will last you a lifetime. the friends you make, the relationships you build, the people you encounter, all make up Melrose High school. If there is one thing promised at Melrose High School, for certain, is community and involvement.

It's an okay school but nothing special, the administration varies but is consistently not amazing. Love some of my teachers, and despise others.

Many teachers at Melrose High are chronically absent from school. They often do not leave work for their students to complete, either, so the classes end up turning into study halls. My child's pre-calculus teacher was absent over 30 days this past year until the administration finally stepped in and re-assigned all other students to other math classes. There really is no excuse for excessive absences and so much lost learning time.

This school is not academically challenging unless your child takes AP classes. Teachers are chronically absent and often do not leave any assignments for students to complete. These classes are called a "sub blocks" except that they do not have any substitute teachers, so the classes get cancelled...

Considering the amount of real estate taxes they charge in this one horse town, the school systems sucks. Chelsea has a better school system.

Overall, I really enjoyed my time at MHS. I learned a lot from my teachers, enjoyed the time I spend there, and have found success in life. Many of the comments reference the "windowless classrooms" which are true, but in recent years renovations have slowly been making the issue better. Melrose is...
