The Mesa-based Redeemer Christian School is the only K-12, private, accredited Christian school in the Phoenix Metropolitan area. The school addresses the academic, emotional, and spiritual needs of school-aged youth in Mesa through the mentorship and guidance of staff and religious community leaders.
Founded in 1980, Redeemer Christian School has embraced smaller class sizes that allow teachers the opportunity to spend more time with each student and instruct them based on the school’s Christ-Centered curriculum.
The school follows a three (3) stage-based model similar to public school. The Grammar Stage is for students grades K-5, The Logic Stage is for grades 6-8, and the Rhetoric Stage is for the remaining 9-12 grade students. Each stage is designed to teach courses according to the youth’s appropriate age and development.
The Christian school implements a classical approach to education that is intended to shape young minds through the lens of their faith. It teaches behavioral expectations as well as traditional Christian studies paired with many of the expected subjects such as History, Rhetoric, and Science.
Parents interested in enrolling their student must submit an application, receive a ‘Pastoral Reference’, pay an application fee, participate in an interview, and have their child take a ‘school readiness’ or placement test.
Once an application has been submitted, parents may elect to apply for one of the many scholarship programs offered by the school or pay out-of-pocket. The school also works with a number of School Tuition Organizations that help parents to afford their students’ classical Christian education.
