GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

North Mesquite High School is a very well put together school. I have professors who actually care about teaching content to the students for their success rather than just for the pay check. They push you to become a better scholar and to retain the information being taught instead of just memorizing it. All staff and students are super friendly and make high school life easier. Although there are a few things that come to my mind when I think of change. Mostly accepting the different cultures and being able to show and take pride in them sportingly. We have a very diverse population here at North Mesquite and I know that the students would appreciate it if the school would show some more support towards their cultures.

My overall experience with North Mesquite high school has been very well. I have never had any issues about bullying. I love my friends i have made from attending this school. The connections with teachers I have of them being understanding is very common.

As a white student, there should be a section in teacher training for AAVE. Too many black students get sent to the office and put into suspension because their AAVE got mistaken for “disrespect”. There are also only a total of about 5 teachers in the entire school that are supportive and understand...

This is not a great school. That said, it is a school and can enable its students as much as they enable themselves. I had some great teachers with high expectations, though the curriculum as a whole was geared towards educating the growing numbers of students within the school. Going on to a elite...

My oldest daughter graduated 3rd in her class here but it was through many turmoil and mishaps. If I had a choice I would send them somewhere else. I was constantly harassed by the principal over unimportant things like her shoes and shoelaces not matching. My GT child who graduated with Honors and...
