I went to Calusa for 1 year, for 3rd grade. I am now 24 years old & I still remember my time there. The teachers had no control over the students & no learning except for when it was time to study the bible, but even that was questionable. I was told crows were the devil & doves were God. As a child, that terrified me. She would tell us stories about seeing the devil & how she would have to chant to ward off this monster. She needed a psych eval. I was so far behind because we weren't taught anything the entire year that I had to be put in remedial math classes very year after that. Then I was bullied & physically beaten by another student multiple times & no disciplinary action was taken. At the time they used to take certain kids away to discipline them with a paddle in another room. NOT a rumor, my mom had to call the school & tell them they didn't have permission to hit me. Lunch was white castle burgers in plastic wrap every day.

Calusa is a Christian-based school that is actually affordable. They aren't perfect, but they are always on an upward track trying to improve. They always have a listening ear and put into action resolutions. They don't hinder the child's spiritual or educational growth; instead they encourage it by meeting them right where they are.

Calusa Preparatory is the best private school in Miami-Dade County. It has a family atmosphere. The administration serve the community night and day to make an impact in society. My most favorite experiences include the mentoring provided by our Senior Sponser and head coach. I have countless memories of fun character building activities and opportunities.

this school is a really bad school. I recommend that you do not go there because my daughter went to that school and got bullied by the kids and the teacher or the staff members did not do anything about it. My daughter tried telling the truth, but all the students would tell lies and and the teache...

I pray for this school but had to pull my kids out. My heart is broken as I was very exited by the expectations but disappointed by the results.

I have had nothing but an excellent experience at Calusa Prep. I recommend this to anyone looking for a faith based school with an excellent academic program.

I am extremely happy to have found this school for my daughters. When they were in public schools they were very shy, but now they are very outgoing girls.
