At Kelsey L. Pharr Elementary School, the educators and staff give students an environment that encourages learning, both academically and socially. The home of the Cougars, Kelsey L. Pharr has a diverse student body of approximately 450 Pre-K through fifth grade students. Through their years at Pharr Elementary, kids are taught a traditional curriculum, featuring reading and language arts, mathematics, science, and writing, complemented by studies in music and physical education. English for Speakers of Other Languages is also provided for students who come from non-English-speaking homes. During recess, kids can have fun on the school’s playground, where slides, tubes and climbing features inspire imaginations and encourage fun. For athletic kids, three basketball courts and expansive open, grassy fields offer unlimited possibilities for running and playing sports. Kelsey L. Pharr Elementary is backed an active PTA that sponsors frequent events and fundraisers for the school, helping families get to know each other while supporting their children’s education. In addition, the school provides parents with resources to help them keep the learning going at home, such as summer resources, reading materials, and more. At Kelsey L.
