GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Penquis Valley has always fell behind in academics and sports. Being in such a small town its not great when everybody is consistently in everybody else's business. I have lived in Milo my whole life and spent all 8 years in Penquis and I would never want my future children to go here. So many of the kids here come from troubled homes and the teachers are too focused on getting every kid to graduate rather than everybody be intelligent and do what school was made for. The school is consistently understaffed and always are in need for new teachers. I would personally never like to teach here when I finish college.

Penquis Valley High School is a very small yet close-knit school, meaning everyone knows everyone. This can both be helpful or traumatic as a student depending on whether you make friends easily. The biggest positive for the school is the opportunities to get involved such as participating in sports, band, yearbook, key club, and student council. The biggest negative for the school is probably the lack of diversity.

Just overall with all my experiences that I have had at Penquis has been bad. They got new teachers in and half of them don't know what there actually doing or they don't care. The bullying is horrible and the administration does nothing about it even when a person tells them about it.

This is the best school ever. We get to have iPads. We get to have icecream and we get to switch classes. That is my favorite part we don't have to sit in one class room anymore we can get up and go to differnt rooms. But I don't like at luch we have to sit at sine seats in the cafeteria
