Piedmont Academy opened in 1970 as a nonprofit college-preparatory educational institution and today serves students from preschool through twelfth grade. Located in Jasper County's central city of Monticello, Piedmont has received accreditation from the Georgia Accrediting Commission, the Southern Association of Colleges and AdvancEd.
Parents play a vital role in determining the course and content of Piedmont, with the school's Board of Trustees made up of student guardians elected during the annual parents’ meeting. Piedmont strives to make sure each child is taught valuable, real-world skills by giving parents a direct influence on the curriculum and academic practices.
The campus covers 25 acres, with several buildings for classrooms. Students also benefit from a fully equipped media center, an outdoor classroom and multiple sports fields. Piedmont offers honors and advanced placement courses for biology, chemistry, calculus, English, history and studio art. The academy also allows high-performing students to take classes above their current grade level. Students enjoy staying active with competitive baseball, basketball, cheerleading, football, and equestrian and shooting teams.

class sizes aren't 13:1 they're more 35:1, the food is amazing and most kids that come to piedmont from public schools say its good, and money doesn't go to the right places. im also pretty sure there's black mold within every room

My daughter started Piedmont in K3 and graduated 2018. I Love how much the faculty and staff care about the children. They are prepared not only for college but for life. They really go the extra mile!

Students and faculty knew everyone, close relations, although favorites were sometimes played. Overall, A good school experience. I was able to play the sports I wanted and could easily have one on one time with my teachers. However, the coaches would also be the teachers.

My daughter has done great on all of her first college exams and has had no problem adjusting to college classes. She says that Piedmont really prepared her for college! Thank you for teaching my children how to be be confident and preparing them for the future. Piedmont Academy has been a blessing...

Students are very well rounded and can easily be involved in a multitude of activities. In high school, dual enrollment and advanced placement classes are available that I took most of the ones offered and it was great starting college as a second semester freshman. I love those Cougars!

I can say that I cannot think of a better place to send my children. They have been challenged academically at each level of their education. They have been challenged to do their best and be a team player for the teams and clubs they have been a part of. They have been encouraged to be good leaders...
