GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

The staff is very friendly. There is not as much drama as there is at other schools. Everyone is focused and the teachers do a great job teaching for the most part.

I transferred to Mountain Pine High School at the end of my junior year and have loved it since I first got there. The students and teachers are all very welcoming, which makes it a great place to learn and socialize. The school is now on a flex mod for the schedule, which I think is a good thing. It helps me as a student by keeping me responsible and independent, but I know I can still go to any of my teachers whenever I need help with something. At Mountain Pine, the school is so small that everybody knows everybody. Some people look at this as a bad thing, but I don't mind it as much. But since we are such a small school, there aren't as many opportunities for students like there are at bigger schools, and that is disappointing at times. Overall I think it's a great school and I'm glad I moved there.

Some of the teachers seem to love teaching and are passionate about the subject material. However, a small percentage seem to not care like they're just hanging in there until retirement.
