The Mustard Seed School is a private Christian elementary school established in 1979 and committed to the highest quality of education. Mustard Seed began its history with only two classes of 16 students. Its current enrollment has expanded and is now composed of 16 classes with almost 200 students from preschool to eighth grade. The school uses a holistic, collaborative and arts-infused approach to learning that prepares students for the next stage of learning and life.
Beyond academics, there’s a strong emphasis on creative expression. Students are introduced to the world of arts and the beauty of nature right at their doorstep. Throughout the year, students discover and explore beyond the classroom in urban and natural environments nurturing the mind and soul. Trips to museums, outdoor education programs and hikes are a fun and highly anticipated part of every school year.
Academic events acknowledge milestones throughout the school year. They include a publishing party for kindergarteners who’ve completed their class alphabet book, a Memoir Night for sixth graders and an I Love Math Day every February 14.

Both our daughters went to preschool at MSS. We then moved away from NJ and against the background of the Florida schools, we further realized what a special place for growth and education Mustard Seed School is. We returned to Hoboken and our younger daughter is back at MSS. She loves going the school and we love the community it has provided us.
