GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Growing up at a small school like this has given me and incredibly unique experience. The school environment here is like none other and provides the rare experience of closing teacher student relationships thatI would trade for anything.

Good academics and community, with many AP and advanced courses being offered (especially for the size of the school). Teachers and staff are willing to help with problems and form positive relationships with students. Some programs do not receive as much funding from the school however, despite similar participation.

I honestly loved attending Nederland High School, we all lived in such a small area so our community was very close, we always lended each other a hand no matter what. I had the chance to become close with all of my peers and teacher/ staff. I am an independent minor, and I am very grateful for what this school has done to make sure I succeed. Nederland is a very caring school who always has an ear out for improvement. This school has had alot of struggles these past years, but they always make a difference.

I am a current student at NMSHS, and I really couldn’t imagine a much better experience. The school has AP programs with far above average passing rates, and because of the small size of the school, teachers and students can really get to know each other through the years. This really helps students...

I'm sad that parents aren't allowed to be involved in their child's learning and teachers can choose to not talk to parents - everything has to go through the principal. Most teachers are amazing - but the administration should be protecting students - not just the teachers.

This school is small, but the staff is great and students are given an individualized school experience. Students are given access to all necessary resources and leave feeling prepared for the lives ahead of them.
