GreatSchools Rating

GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

New Haven is a small school, which is nice because students and teachers have very good relationships and I like how I can walk through the hall and know everyone. I also like how we have so many different clubs and organizations available to student so everyone can find something they are interested in. One thing that I don't like about New Haven High School is how the students are given barely any freedom. We are not allowed to use the bathrooms throughout class without being given a tardy. I would also like to see more support for sports teams from the staff. On the court, I look around the gym and I see barely any NHHS staff there cheering us on.

I think our safety procedures are effective and I trust the systems. Bullying has never been an issue, but if it were, it would be taken care of immediately. We don't have student IDs or metal detectors because of the small student population. We also don't have drug dogs or police officer visits. There is no school nurse, but if you need medication or if you are ill, you go to the school secretary in the central office.

I am in every club and activity that is offered at our school. The variety and acceptance of the clubs at our school encourages the students not to have cliques.

Phenomenal. I couldn't pick a better school for my children if I had to. They push the students to be the absolute best they can be, they do not tolerate laziness, & hold student accountable for they actions. That being said, they also keep it fun & family like. The work ethics they instill, will la...
