GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

The diversity in this school is very limited. As a person of color, I am one of the few in our school. The academics are beyond great. Overall, it is a good school .

The school has a great marching band program. The academics are pretty standard. The dress code is unnecessary. The counselors are not good at handling emotional/mental problems. The school gave me two incorrectly spelled diplomas when I graduated.

The teachers are very helpful. Several of the teachers are coaches for the schools varsity team so they make sure you are in your grades

I absolutely enjoyed my stay at Newark High School! I am a recent graduate, and currently studying to be a teacher at Ohio State because of the influence from my high school teachers. To put it in perspective, I always grew up telling myself I’m going to be a high school dropout, which started even...

Poor communication with parents, they play favoritism and over all discussed with the way they talk to parents when they FINALLY decide to interact with them and how they continually tell me my son does not belong there because of social anxiety if you are not there to help kids and mentor them find...

Overall, this school is nothing but clownery. From poor teaching abilities from staff, problematic staff members and bullying, this school is really one of the worst schools out there, and I’ve been to many schools. I think the most unsettling thing is the amount of student drama and problematic stu...
