At Elm Street Elementary School, Eagle students from prekindergarten through fifth grade are encouraged by the school’s uplifting acronym that “Every Learner Matters.”
Situated along a quiet street in a well-maintained neighborhood, Elm Street Elementary’s historic building adds to its small-town appeal. This highly-rated public school at 76 Elm Street in Newnan, Georgia is home to over 400 students and offers a student-teacher ratio of around 13-to-1.
Recognized as a national Title 1 Distinguished School, Elm Street was selected as one of only two schools in Georgia to earn the National Elementary and Secondary Education Act Distinguished School award for improving students’ education with federal funds.
Everyone at Elm Street benefits from modern interactive HD panels in every classroom, Chromebooks for third through fifth graders, and iPads for kindergarten through second grade students. In addition to a rigorous Coweta County School System curriculum, the Elm Street Eagles gather for a Fall Festival, holiday chorus concert, egg hunt, school musical, book fairs and the Coweta County School System spelling bee.
Elm Street’s English Language Arts program teaches critical thinking and analytical writing. The literacy program helps students master phonics and reading. In math and science, students are given hands-on projects to grasp the relevance of concepts introduced, and the school’s social studies curriculum follows the Georgia Standards of Excellence.
