White Oak Elementary School is situated within a lovely residential neighborhood in Newnan, Georgia. The campus is bordered by expansive trees and offers three playground areas and a track. With an average student-teacher ratio of around 15-to-1, the school serves approximately 700 students from prekindergarten through fifth grades.
As part of the public Coweta County School System, White Oak implements the Coweta curriculum. This includes project-based learning with counters and manipulatives for math, tailoring texts to students’ reading levels, experimenting via the scientific method, and teaching social studies through differentiated texts, videos and real-world applications. Students are guided through this curriculum to develop academically, but also to become self-motivated learners who take accountability for their education.
White Oak Elementary also strives to leverage technology in the classroom by giving students access to online activities and resources that will strengthen their learning.
At White Oak, students can join the academic bowl team for a competitive and informative environment that will allow them to perform under pressure while developing their team-building and research skills. Beta Club is also offered at the school, giving high-achieving students the opportunity to develop academically and demonstrate their commitment to community service.
