I have been at this school my entire high school career, the energy here is so depressing and always has been. The teachers are horrible for the most part, but sometimes you get lucky and find a gem.

With a few exceptions, the teachers are stellar. Academics are rigorous, but I think faculty and administration are committed to supporting students in all ways, and at all levels. TBH my kid hated the social scene there, and felt his creativity somewhat stifled, but I think the place was just too big for him. It's huge, and easy to feel lonely there. The biggest plus is college has been a breeze in comparison.

There are lots of opportunities at Newton South, wether that be class choice, class level, sports, arts, or music. Newton North does have a better facility, but the quality of student life seems to be the same. I enjoyed my experience, as did my siblings and friends.

Great reputation. Fails to live up to it. Academics are beyond mediocre and at times can be quite bad. Most teachers can not teach, some are excellent, it’s really all luck. Way better than it used to be in terms of academic pressure because at least kids aren’t offing themselves anymore….? Toxic so...

Good teachers but terrible social environment if you aren’t a skinny white or Asian American girl or intellectually smart. Absolutely no emotional or social support from any of the faculty and bullying often goes unnoticed. Most students have zero emotional awareness and keep to themselves; often ar...

An amazing school that allows students to explore a well rounded high school experience. Academics, clubs and sports are all accessible and a big part of school life. Students that put their energy into it will be well rewarded with an outstanding education and all the skills for college.

Possibly the worst school in MA for the COVID response, as it is still going on. So many teachers are absent every day. Up to 45 teachers are absence each day, some for weeks at a time. Actually disgraceful. Some teachers are good, and they care. But there seems to be no rules for how many days teac...
