This school brought upon many many memories over the course of the four years. The best parts where the AP courses and the music department. The worst, or not as great, parts were some of the students attending as they were not the best behaved folks and how old the building was. Also, my counselor was not the best, but most faculty was nice and approachable.

The school is not a safe place. There are fights all the time and the teachers and faculty have to spend more time monitoring behavior than actually being able to teach. The only saving grace for me and my high school career at Maury was being accepted into governors school for dance. This allowed me to only have to do half days at Maury since I would leave for governors school in the afternoon. I am not even going to walk or go to prom because of how scared I am to attend Maury or Maury sponsored event.

Maury high school is by far one of the worst school I’ve attended and I’ve been to several high schools. For starters there’s clearly a race issue not among students but the teachers. They tend to have lower expectations for African American students. I’ve never been to a school where most of the bl...
