With around 850 students in grades six to eight, Heron Creek Middle School (Heron Creek) is part of the Sarasota County School District and one of two middle schools in North Port. The school is situated in a residential area near the city’s only public high school, North Port High School.
Students at Heron Creek have opportunities to explore academics in a variety of ways. One option is the school's college preparatory magnet program, Cambridge Pre-Advanced International Certificate of Education (Pre-AICE), which requires an application process. Those accepted in Pre-AICE can enroll in classes for high school credits, visit at least one college and develop a personalized college prep plan. Student progress and test scores mirror the average for the entire state.
All students can choose elective courses in subjects like robotics, business ownership, orchestra and hospitality and tourism.
Heron Creek Patriots compete in several sports, including tennis, volleyball, golf and track and field. Flag football and table tennis are played as intramural athletics.
According to the school’s mission, all students are empowered through academic and social learning to be prepared for college and/or careers along with becoming socially responsible adults and lifelong learners.

This school is not good, fights are like every week, not safe, and the students aren't excited to learn anything and it has just been the worst school I ever went to. If I could rate it a 0/10 I would. HORRIBLE I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND!!!
