Oaks Elementary School has been educating Atascocita’s youth since its opening in 1979. Currently, the school enrolls 636 students made of pre-kindergarteners through fifth grade. With a 15-to-one student-teacher ratio, parents can rest assured their little ones receive the classroom attention needed to progress academically. At Oaks Elementary, being young does not mean not having responsibilities. Thanks to the Safety Patrol program, fifth graders have the chance to hone culpable skills by assisting teachers with morning projects, assisting Pre-K students, aiding in the safety of their peers, flag duty, and more. The mission of Oaks Elementary is to “ensure all students achieve the highest levels of learning required for every child’s success.” So, the Parent Teacher Organization aims to uphold that mission. Each year the PTO hosts several fundraisers that contribute to the academic excellence of OE students. Annually, the PTO hosts events such as Fun Run, Trunk or Treat, Santa’s Elf Shop, and the Fifth Grade Manners Banquet. The Annual Fund is another fundraiser that allows parents and grandparents to make donations in support of enrichment programs, new technology, and other projects that enhance academic growth for OE students.

We moved from a very small school in Illinois. I was nervous about how my son would adapt to a larger school. Turns out I had nothing to worry about. The teachers are great and gave great feedback not only about test scores but how he was adapting. I love this school and only hope to find a school t...
