GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

I like that Odessa is not to big of a school so the teachers can focus on people who are struggling and need help. I find it handy that there isn't a lot of people so if your in need you can get the help to help you better understand. One thing I don't like is that my keyboarding class the teacher is always focused on FBLA and waits to the last second to grade things or assign assignments and then that reflects on our grades and I find it the worst class out of the school.

We do have campus police, a couple of nice officers. Our school nurse is okay. Last year, one student saw a non-student on campus with a gun, called her dad, who called the police, and we went into lockdown. The authorities were very thorough, and did catch the guy. We do have good health programs on campus, and we're quite safe.

I've never been a school spirit person, but a lot of my friends are, and they love the school activities. The school is wonderfully unique though: we are the only high school in town to have an International Baccalaureate program (I'm not in it, but it's still neat) and OHS is the host school of the ONLY public school harp program IN THE UNITED STATES to go all the way through high school. We have two class periods in which we meet, whereas our crosstown rivals have to take lessons if they want to play harp. Haha.
