GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

My experience going to Douglass high school has had its ups and downs. I have been attending Douglass since my freshman year. Overall the environment is getting better. I can say if a parent is putting their child in this school that they should always be involved to make sure they are getting the proper guidance and learning material. I can say that the faculty could do a better job at listening to the students more about things as far as the classes go. The counselors try to do their best but are most of the time busy when you need help but that's expected. I have gotten a good high school experience with learning that you have a voice and to always speak up for yourself or you won't get things done. I feel the new faculty are working to making the school better than it once was before and I like to see it for the upcoming generations. One thing I would like to see is that they push more students to go to metro tech to figure out what they want to do with their life.

Douglass high school has a great environment. It is a great school all around, academic wise and activity wise. There is also a lot of room to make friends since it is a small school.

This school is and has always been the beacon of hope for minority students. Many students whom come out of here are prepared for college. Currently there are 203 students taking college courses at Oklahoma City Community college. Because it’s a predominantly black school there will always be low ra...
