It isn't a terrible place, but it could definitely be better. Administration is a total bust- it needs improvement, sports are a let down; especially female sports. There is not enough funding for any of the sports to do anything good/ keep things updated. Nobody stays in one place either, they are constantly changing teachers/ staff at high school and its hard to keep up. Plus it seems like they don't really care what your grades are- just as long as you pass.

I've been in th this Okmulgee public school district most of my life, since pre-k and I am not currently a senior. When I was younger I thought the school system was great of course because all I did was take naps and eat toothpaste but as I got older you realize how crooked things are ... the teachers at the highschool are just here for a check as well as the principal they do y interact with the kids I will say that that the assistant principal this year took his time and personally met with each senior individually and h tells th students he loves us when we get done speaking with him the school in general is more focused on the dress code instead of our education

I graduated from Okmulgee High School 55 years ago. My two children graduated from Okmulgee High School, one in 1998 and one in 2000. OHS has had some really good teachers and administrators over the years and there are still plenty there. A good HS education is available for those interested in obt...

I have had three boys in Okmulgee High School. It is a great school. My middle child did attend another school in a nearby town for his senior year due to a move but we were so excited to be able to move our youngest back to Okmulgee High School. The faculty truly cares for the students.

Okmulgee is a good School System. We are deeply involved in the Education Foundation and the Public School. Okmulgee has concurrent enrollment and OSU IT is in the same city.
