When it comes to Orion, you aren't getting size. With my graduating class being around eighty or so individuals, I'm able to stay connected with everyone, and have all of my friends close to me at all times. However, there's a noticeable inconsistency in quality of the teachers. Some are really good, and some I couldn't stand being in class with. Some just didn't even want to do their job.

Orion is a school that does not love change. Many people who work in the schools graduated from the schools. New ideas are not the most welcomed. There is a environment that if you aren't from Orion, you don't fully fit in. This idea is fading over time, but it is still prevelant. Also, not a school that is very accepting of LGBTQ+. Not diverse either.

Orion had great teachers and activities to do and you never felt unsafe in the school's atmosphere. Teachers spent a great deal of time ensuring the students are college ready.

If your child participates in sports you should...

Probably one of the most bigoted towns in IL. Avoid like the plague. "There's no bullying here."

I graduated High School from Orion. I loved the district and the town so much, I wanted my children to experience it for themselves. We moved from a large city where the schools were far below average. The teachers helped them catch up. They have high standards and reward it with teachers and staff...
