Canyon Del Oro is a school with very diverse studies, which ends up being a negative. They offer AP and IB studies, but because of this both are very limited in what they offer. IB only offers one science HL Chemistry, while AP sciences change by the year and demand. They could do much better with just concentrating for type of advanced learning.

I really love Canyon Del Oro high school, I've been very impressed as far as academics, school culture, and athletics go. I would confidently say that this is the best public high school in Tucson.

I recently transferred to Canyon Del Oro High School from a sister school. I immediately noticed the difference between my last school and my current one, CDO. The staff is much more friendlier, and so is the student body.

The principal Ms. Bulleigh is super engaged and responsive, as are all the faculty I've met. One of my kids graduated last year and one is a freshman. It is a very supportive and inclusive environment.

4:05PM dismissal time is crazy. The mental health of students is in such a deep decline and the staff couldn't care less. An actual quote from a staff member during a 2021 student assembly; "We have a door to door policy. We own you until you go through your house's door." Many teachers are lazy, sn...

Many OV parents attended CDO. BASIS, Ironwood, Mt View, & other schools weren't built yet. Naturally, such CDO alums have fond memories of CDO. However, it appears many also have a good case of confirmation bias. That is, they see all the pluses of CDO, but ignore the (growing) flaws. This isn't the...

CDO has outstanding academics, vibrant arts programs and they have a long history of excellence in their sports programs. CDO consistently wins awards in the Academic Decathlon and they currently have three possible National Merit Scholars. I don't have experience in the school's IB program but I kn...
