Otis has a very nice new facility. Unfortunately, there is an extremely high rate of ineffective teachers as well as students who do not pass college readiness standards and administration who does not support the teachers/community members who are trying to promote positive changes in the school and surrounding culture.

School spirit is HUGE in Otis!! Both the school and the community support every sport and our bleachers are often full. We have outstanding coaches and our volleyball team has qualified for the state tournament every year for more than 10 years!! We have a brand new gym that is awesome! Our football field needs some work but there just is not any funding, The community has donated some time and equipment to improve it but there is still more to be done.

The school was built 120 years ago. The foundation is literally crumbling beneath us. The walls in most class rooms are cracking, and the heaters are old. However, we have recieved the Best Grant, which will pay for 8.6 million dollars to build a new school, coming in two years.

Every child is a part of our...
