I have been going to Mcdonogh since I was in kindergarten. One thing I do love is how close the community is especially during spirit week and athletic games. One thing they could improve on is the food. Lunches are ok, but most of the time it's just chicken so if you want something else you have to buy a sandwich from the Brass which is about $8. One other thing I've noticed in Upper School is that the teachers can be very confusing in their curriculum. Aside from the few negatives, Mcdonogh is a really good school and I couldn't imagine going anywhere else.

I have been a student at McDonogh School from Kindergarten to my senior year. I am positive that McDonogh has set me up for success, college readiness, and has built my sense of character.

Head of school (Farace) is egotistical, myopic, and frankly cruel. They could care less about your kid. They care about one thing--protecting "McDonogh" and their reputation. Administrators will lie, gossip and gang up on your student because these are not evolved adults, but insecure gossip-hounds. Run, don't walk. Please don't throw your money away.

Solid education with flaws. Parent communication from teachers is lacking in the upper grades and college counseling is not super supportive or helpful as advertised. Considering the amount of tuition paid by families, the school leaves you with a feeling that you overpaid for a “meh” school.

McD is an overall exceptional school which seeks to build leaders in the community. The pressure is age appropriate and the experience should allow students to thrive in their future.
