GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

I liked the block scheduling and school spirit at Palmerton! Block scheduling made the semesters a lot easier to keep up with your classes being longer and only having to focus on four at a time. I would like to see a change in the science department I feel that the sciences were not taught thoroughly in any science I took.

I am just now starting out my sophomore year. There is barely any homework to do outside of school. I feel that some of the teachers are nice and helpful and they actually care about the students, others, not so much... I feel that all you have to do is memorize the information and you can pass just fine, you never really have to retain it. I am a good student, I get A's and I am involved in clubs and sports, but I feel that I haven't really learned anything. I memorize it for the test and next week I wouldn't be able to tell you half of the information. I do not know if this is just me, but it is a problem.

There isn't much diversity here at all. Its a small school and town, most people born and raised here so its different to see different cultures come in, but its also very nice to get a feel and see different people.

The elementary school was decent a few years ago but has drastically gone down hill. I pay the same taxes as people in other school districts south of Palmerton but get so much less. There are a few good and dedicated teachers. However there are also many problmes that need to be addressed rather th...

Average school, but more concerned with taxing the community to fund their buying properties & upgrading sports fields. The taxes raise while test scores fall.
