Glenda Dawson is a highly diverse school, from the more athletically inclined, the academically inclined, and those in between. The teachers are very supportive of their students and each have their own unique way of pushing for success.

I have been a cheerleader for all 4 years of high school experience, this has been the best and the worst experience of my school attendance. It has been the best because it has taken me out of my comfort zone and I am now more open, I have lifelong friends, and it has taught me responsibility and leadership. The worst part is that we have had a new couch all 4 years, so there was no consistency, always constant changes, and no one to look up to for guidance as to what to expect. I am/was captain for the last year and breaking in another coach and learning how to handle a new couch was not fun.

My overall experience with Dawson has been very good. My classes have all, mostly, been well-taught and thorough. I wish there was more of an emphasis on the college application process, but my academics have been improved by this high school.

My child came from Houston ISD 3 years ago and is in her Junior year at DHS and it has been a tremendous improvement from a mental health perspective. The majority of the students at DHS want to learn and do well, so they are less disruptive than at other schools. The classes are about 15-20 student...

This school is absolutely amazing! I'm a freshman here and I have loved my first year. As a whole, the teachers are friendly with students but are serious about their teaching. The administrators are very supportive.
