I graduated from this school a year ago, and I have to say my teachers got me ready for college. They always pushed me because I was always a good student. South west is a school where students and teachers go half and half on the learning experience. You as a student have to be open to learn. What I would like to see a change of is the diversity of the school, a mix of cultures would make this school perfect.

The staff is not only concerned about academics but are aware and concerned about each individual students behavior and mental health (social/ family problems). There is a lack of resources available to students at this school, but the staff is dedicated to using the few resources that are available.

I transferred to Southwest Edgecombe during the start of my junior year. It was different because I did not know very many people at this school. I got well acquainted with my counselor and AP teacher.
