Academics are not rigorous and often times the administration is very disconnected from the needs of students and teachers. College prep is very minimal.

I find the community of Point Arena High to be decently friendly. Most of the faculty is eager to help. There is not much tradition, but I know that is due to an effort to reinvent the school which is something I can appreciate.

The school climate has changed tremendously over the last 2.5 years. Academics, attendance and character are now a priority. They demonstrate caring for student self efficacy and agency. As always there is still room for growth but they are on a positive trajectory.

Except for one teacher ( who is no longer there ) they are not very good.
