The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

I would like to change the fact that this school is considered to be one of the most problematic, when in fact it is not. I've had a great experience with teachers, academics, and students. If it wasn't for the support of several teachers here, I wouldn't know what to do for my college and scholarships applications.

I went to Porter Early College High School for all 4 years of my high school career. Provide had excellent students and excellent staff. They offered dual enrollment directly associated with Texas Southmost College which help me attain my associate degree in high school. The worst part of this school was that they did not really offer that many AP classes which prohibited me for getting even more college credit.

The environment is very friendly and comfortable. Most of the teachers are decent, but sadly the math teachers aren't the best. No matter what type of math class you're in they make it difficult to understand and hard to learn.

We don't do anything in this school but sleep and text. I realize that all the teachers expect nothing from you! students here don't believe in ambition. The hard truth, I even have video footage of my everyday school day on youtube. Whoever rates this higher than one star might be for the very same...
