Ocean Avenue Elementary School is a kindergarten through fifth-grade school in Woodford's Corner section of Back Cove. As a public school, it is part of the Portland Public Schools District. An authorized International Baccalaureate World School since 2016, the academic framework guides students toward becoming independent, internationally minded learners through an inquiry-based curriculum. The school has technology in each classroom and Chromebooks for each student in second through fifth grade.

The architects for Ocean Avenue Elementary incorporated the latest sustainable and energy-efficient features in the school's design. An inviting entry plaza greets students with playful and original sculptures. Natural light streams through large windows in common areas and classes. The classrooms look out on the surrounding woods and wetlands, creating a connection to nature and exposure to sustainable features. In a nod to the school's historic past, two murals in the main hallway were reinstalled from the previous Nathan Clifford school, which celebrate Maine's marine and agricultural traditions.
