I've gone to Riverdale all 4 years and it has been great. I've had the opportunity to take many classes that sparked my interest. The school is very small and creates a close knit environment allowing students to get lots of help from their teachers.

It was a wonderful community to be apart of. It allowed for students to explore their areas of interest through small class sizes and individualized curriculum. However, at times it seems removed from actually immersing students into the outside world. With the "bubble" type mentality that often caused students to explore things in an unhealthy manner.

the academics are fairly good but teachers really don't support their students. there are maybe 4 or 5 that go out of their way to check in. Also there are not a lot of electives or extra curricular activities to participate in. If you are thinking about sending your child here I would maybe consider other options.

We have been in the Riverdale School District since 2010. The teachers are phenomenal. There are no "AP classes" but there are Honors options that prepare students for AP tests, like another private school in Portland. My son just took the Human Geography AP test. We are waiting for the score but he...

After putting 2 kids through Riverdale High, I only have great things to say. TLDR - send your kids here if you can get in. Here's the longer story...My 2 kids are very different academically and temperamentally. One is great at everything academic, the other (clinically) math & science challenged....

We transfered our son to Riverdale after his first semester at a PPS high school. This was the best decision we ever made regarding his education. The Riverdale community welcomed him immediately. He connected with new friends, joined the choir, and took on leadership roles at Riverdale. The academi...

We value our small High School! The class sizes and community atmosphere enable the teachers to know the students as individuals, engage them in meaningful discussion, and encourage them to excel. I'm glad Riverdale gives my son personalized attention and hope he has a similar experience at universi...
